What I enjoy about working in theatre is the collaborative nature of the process, whether that is in scenic painting or when designing a show. With an engagement in fine art, I am excited by the aesthetic possibilities of theatre design and the ephemeral nature of performance. Theatre is something that is alive at that particular moment in time and the legacy it leaves is not a material one but one that exists in the memories of the audience who experience it.

During my three years studying Design for Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I have refined my skills in painting, drawing and sculpting and learnt new ones such as casting, prop making and pattern cutting. I have strengths in time management and problem solving allowing me an experimental approach whilst still meeting deadlines. For me, this creative endeavour has only just begun and I am looking forward to the possibilities and challenges it will bring.
